Refresh Our Cyclists

rest stop

Ends of the Earth Cycling, Ends Cycling
Ends of the Earth Cycling, Ends Cycling

Ends of the Earth Cycling   is always looking for churches, businesses, or groups of people willing to host an official rest stop for our cyclists during tours.  Rest stops are a welcomed sight for our participants after many miles on the road. If you are interested in hosting a rest stop please contact us.

Rest stops usually consist of a table under a shade tent along the route with food and refreshments.  We love for groups to get creative with rest stop ideas. Here are a few suggestions and guidelines.  Lets get creative together!

Rest Stops will need:
  • 2-4 volunteers of all-ages (more are welcome if you choose) ready to serve for about 2 hours - Groups of participants (4-10) will arrive at a rest stop for 10-30 min at a time, then will leave and begin to cycle again. Multiple groups will come through the rest stop between the 2 hour window during the day.

  • Under $75 for food and drink items.

  • Tables, coolers, shade tent (if not shaded already)

  • We will help suggest and secure your location.

Rest Stop Suggestions:
  • Feel free to be creative!

  • Set up shade tents for rest stop. (1-2 shade tents or under a large tree)

  • Have tables with food, coolers (ice), cold drinks, etc.

  • Have rest stop volunteers dress up in costumes to cheer and encourage. Be creative!

  • Portable sound system with fun and upbeat music!

  • Serve cyclists as they come through the rest stop with food, drinks, and encouragement.

  • Have trash cans available.

  • Hand sanitizer is highly recommended.  We love high-fives!

  • Hugs!  We are sweaty but if you hug our cyclists, they will appreciate it.

  • Please note that some riders may have dairy/gluten/nut allergies, so variety and labeling food is a great thing.
